Geral Information:   The Westwood Brewing Company

Located right down the street from the UCLA campus, the Westwood Brew Co. is a hip and upbeat "venue" to grab something to eat and have a few beers (if you're of legal age). The upstairs bar features nightly music, there's a patio courtyard and still another room for events, like comedy. The music is as diverse as the crowd and there's no shortage of a good time.

The Atmosphere:

In the heart of Westwood, the Brew Co. is convenient to everything that's going on in the area. It's 21 and over and in the evenings and there'll be someone checking ID's. Once inside, the Brew Co. is a lot like a restaurant. You can get a table and have food, visit one of the three bars, see live music or hang out on the patio.

The Brew Co is open during the day, but in the evenings it takes on a life of it's own. No longer a restaurant, live music starts around 10pm and the crowd changes. You'll find the music upstairs in a room that can hold about 125 people. The stage is moderate in size and there's really no bad place to be. There's a bar in the back, and if you need a break, you can go outside on the patio or downstairs to hang with your friends.

There's plenty of seating, some couches in the live music room, tucked comfortably in the corner looking out over the street. The vibe is wood and brick, brewery / college hang out. The patio is a courtyard with a staircase up stairs and an open balcony. At night you can see the buildings and it's a very tranquil place to relax.

The music ranges in styles, but we've seen some really cool stuff at the Brew Co. They have a great open booking policy that usually lends to some very interesting stuff. Not to mention you'll find artists like, That One Guy, That Fat Frog, Gravity Willing and All Rise, to name a few.

What you should know:

The Brew Co's music doesn't always start on time. The room is also used to host special events that sometimes go a little later than planned. That doesn't stop a good time, but it pushes everything back a half hour or even an hour in some circumstances.

Parking Situation:

Parking in Westwood is not a problem. If it's really busy you might have a bit of a struggle but there are pay lots all over the place. You can also park on the street, but we always recommend you observe the street signs and meters very carefully.
