The Atmosphere:
The "little club on the corner" isn't so little on the inside, very deceptive. The entrance, a small door, sits adjacent to the patio area, which is sometimes closed depending on the weather and business. Inside, the club splits into two separate rooms, each with its own bar.
The first bar is straight across from the entrance and takes you into a quiet room that's attached to the patio. The room has some artwork hanging on the walls, low lit with sort of a villa vibe. This is clearly the escape from whatever's going on in the next room. They've got everything you need (bring your own friends) to make an evening of it, but chances are you'll still go check out the music.
Just to the right when you enter (past the easy to find restrooms) is the main room. Stone tile floors with a wooden dance floor takes president to the medium sized stage tucked in the corner. Small tables and chairs scatter the room. Slightly elevated areas in the back offer additional seating on a busy night.
The first thing you'll probably notice is the nine plus disco balls of all sizes hanging sporadically around the room. The bar runs the length of the club towards the stage and towards the stage end of the bar there's quite a few icy machines (commonly known to be used for margaritas). Adding a touch of atmosphere to the room are large potted plants, offering a contrast to the dark blue walls lined with mirrors.
The stage and sound system at Lush is nothing to scoff at. They've got all the bases covered with a comfy stage that could fit five or six comfortably. The room is great for live music and we could really hear the vocals, even with the louder bands.
Finally, hidden, tucked away in the back, is the VIP lounge, a small and secluded hideaway. The dark room features dim lighting, couch seating and a mood that will quickly make you forget you're in a nightclub.
What you should know:
The venue is open to different styles of music, so it's best to call and see what they've got going on. Most notable is that everyone we met was friendly and full of positive things to say.
Parking Situation:
The club itself has a small lot that can accommodate 8 to 10 cars, but there's parking along the street, which is free. We didn't see any pay lots (1+ for the little club on the corner!). The neighborhood is good, feels safe but is just enough off the beaten track to not have passersby's.
