The Atmosphere:

Kulak's Woodshed's odd artsy sign hangs over the half painted blue store front with a drum head in the upper window and a couple odd decorations, like a bird cage and fish tank. When you go inside for the first time you're probably going to wonder if you just walked into someone's living room or a make shift movie set, but you're in the right place.

The room is an amalgamation of art and a relaxed communal environment. It's all ages, open for the purpose of music and free to the public. Everything's decorated with some sort of something. Clotheslines scatter from here to there, made from Christmas lights, wooden clothes pins and CDs. There's pictures and posters all over the place.

Chairs are scattered everywhere, some couch sitting and off in a corner there's a make shift bed on the floor with stuffed animals and all. There's even a bed with a canopy hanging from the ceiling.

The stage, or "circle of love" is directly in the middle of the shop and surrounded by cameras, from which the stream the performance on to the Internet. The sound is fantastic; they take real care in providing the artist with everything they need to make it a comfortable environment.

Kulak's isn't in the business of selling food and drink, but they do have an area with a fridge and supply coffee and snacks. They ask that you make a donation to help cover their hospitality.

What you should know:

Bring a few extra bucks to support the venue itself. Kulak's survives by the kindness of strangers and there are few to no places like this, so support it with a couple bucks, so you never have to feel the disappoint of it disappearing.

Parking Situation:

Parking is available on the street. Watch the signs and in some areas the meters. The neighborhood is good, a business storefront area.
